Lennart Karl may have stolen the show in Bayern Munich’s 3-1 win over Sporting CP in the Champions League, but Alphonso Davies made headlines too because he just made his official return from injury following a nine-month layoff. After the match, he took a photo with fellow returnee Jamal Musiala which can be found on the latter’s Instagram story (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia):
While Davies was recovering, the Bavarians
had to make do with Josip Stanišić, Konrad Laimer, Sacha Boey, Tom Bischof, and Hiroki Itō (who also just came back from injury) as the many left-back options. The Canadian making his return is a massive boost and the prospect of him linking up with Luis Díaz is exciting to say the least.
Musiala on the other hand has Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise, Lennart Karl, and even the striker pair of Harry Kane and Nicolas Jackson had to deputize in that CAM spot. The former Chelsea FC man should make his debut next year because the club is not willing to take risks and rush his return.
