What is the story about?
The Islanders begin their new life without Alex Romanov, again, as they host the Chicago Blackhawks.
It appears Scott Mayfield will get first crack at returning to the lineup, while Matthew Schaefer will skate forever and ever.
The Hawks — an NBA team in Atlanta? An NCAA team in Iowa?
Who could possibly know? — arrive without Teuvo Teravainen as well as Connor Bedard, who is still out following summer shoulder surgery.
