I partially blame the latest freeze in offseason activity on the snowstorm that hit much of the East Coast over the weekend and has had trickle-down effects on the beginning of this week. So many people are shut in! Maybe they don’t want to make potentially life-altering decisions right now if they can help it. Is this a very flawed theory since the world doesn’t revolve around the East Coast? Of course, but whatever, it’s a thought.
We have better thoughts ahead on the site today! Michael will ponder
the “running it back” strategy that the Yankees seem to be using, Josh will detail the one version of a free agent signing “deadline” that might work in a more interesting way than most suggested deadlines, Matt will remember 1932 Yankees champion “Broadway” Lyn Lary for the Yankees Birthdays series, and in our 50 Most Notable Yankees Free Agents series, Kevin will pay homage to one of the best signings in franchise history: Carsten Charles Sabathia.
Questions/Prompts:
1. Did you ever get around to sending out holiday cards at the end of last year or earlier in January?
2. Any schadenfreude on Bill Belichick missing out on his first opportunity to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame? Or do you think it’s just kind of dumb?
