For the first time in the Mike LaFleur era, the Arizona Cardinals have won a football game.
It may seem a bit pedantic, it is the preseason, but for a team that is the most losingest in North American Sports history, winning is not something to take lightly.
So, for the Arizona Cardinals, to get a 27-14 victory on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders, forgive us for enjoying it.
It started with Jacoby Brissett and the starters answering the Raiders opening drive touchdown with one of their own, knotting
things up at 7-7.
Brissett was a cool 5/5 for 44 yards and a touchdown, before he gave way to Gardner Minshew who was 14/16 for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
We also saw Jeremiyah Love’s Cardinals debut, where he had 11 carries for 58 yards and three receptions for 14 yards in an impressive, if not a bit much of a performance with 14 touches in the preseason.
It was another great effort from the Cardinals offense and a better effort from their defense, although the Raiders top two quarterbacks were 15/22 for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
Also, we have to ask, does the quarterback play make last weeks effort by Carson Beck (who was out with a rib injury) a little less impressive?
The biggest takeaway from the game though is that rookie second round pick Chase Bisontis left the game with an apparent knee injury.
