Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid is no stranger to injury woes. Having dealt with various levels of knee pain in the aftermath of a torn PCL during the 2024 NFL season, it sometimes feels as though Kincaid is always injured. Now, there’s more recent news that Kincaid may have been dealing with a new injury.
Before you rush to the comments section, by all accounts and especially per Kyle Trimble (@BangedUpBills) who noted that it appears Kincaid hasn’t been limited by the observed injury. However,
Trimble noted back on July 30 that Kincaid may have suffered a right ring or pinky finger injury based on the tape mechanism he sported at the start of training camp.
Fast-forward to this week, and Dan Fetes confirms that Kincaid had indeed broken his right pinky finger at some point in camp. That brought about a bit of an uncomfortable pause in the room before discussing that even with the splint on, Kincaid’s training camp this summer has been so good the injury’s gone largely unnoticed. On a similar theme, Kincaid hasn’t worn a knee brace in camp, and he’s been a big part of the offense’s plans in the early going.
Despite Kincaid having picked up a new injury (and one that could have happened in many different ways), it appears to be nothing to worry about at this point in time. Need reassurance? Just check out any highlight video of Kincaid’s summer work.
Will this positively translate to major steps forward in the regular season? Time, as only it can do, will tell. A fully healthy Kincaid is certain to be a problem for NFL defenses, and many people have observed a potentially new/different level being unlocked by Kincaid this offseason.
