Syracuse ice hockey came back from the holiday break and got the new year started on the right foot with a weekend sweep of the Delaware Blue Hens. The Orange are now 10-11-3 and 6-6-2 in AHA play.
The
Orange won Friday’s game by a score of 3-1 as they rallied from an early 1-0 deficit behind a goal and assist from Jordan Blouin and 13 saves from Ava Drabyk. Syracuse converted on two power=play goals with Stella Costabile and Peyton Armstrong finding the back of the net.
On Saturday, the Orange dominated in a 4-0 win. Drabyk made 16 saves to earn her 3rd shutout of the season. Goals were scored by Rylee McLeod, Charlotte Hallett, Jackson Kinsler and Nea Tervonen. Syracuse is now in 5th place in the AHA standings and next weekend will be a big two-game series at 4th place Robert Morris.
