Florida State softball came from behind on Saturday to secure another series sweep, erasing an early 4-0 deficit to beat Notre Dame 8-4.
The win keeps the Seminoles (34-4, 12-0 ACC) undefeated in ACC play, extending their nation-leading win streak to 24 (tied for fifth-best in school history).
Florida State went down early after Notre Dame scored four runs in the top of the second inning, but then plated runners in four straight innings to shoot ahead. A sixth-inning explosion took it from a 5-4 game
to an 8-4 one.
Florida State came up clutch in two-out situations multiple times, with Jayson Beachum tripling to send in the tying run in the fourth, Harp Kennedy doubling to put the Seminoles out on top in the fifth and then scoring three in the sixth off Anna Hinde and Harp RBIs.
FSU’s defense locked in after the early deficit, holding the Irish to just two hits after the top of the second. Bella Dimitrijevic got 2.1 innings of work, allowing five hits and four runs. She was replaced by Jazzy Francik at the top of the third, going 2.2 with two strikeouts and one hit on 41 pitches. Ashtyn Danley closed things out going 2 innings with one strikeout.
