Lamine Yamal’s fitness is once again in the spotlight, with the Barcelona star continuing to struggle with pubalgia.
The teenager is said to be worried about his injury which a medical expert has claimed
“reduces the player’s ability to move and shoot by almost 50%.”
According to Diario Sport, Yamal has pondered the possibility of undergoing surgery but is not contemplating having an operation at this point.
The report adds that if he continues to feel discomfort over the next few weeks then he may reconsider his stance.
Yamal’s injury does appear to be a tricky one for footballers.
Former Barcelona physio Miquel Àngel Cos has told Sport that “pubalgia is not treated, it is managed” and also explained “with absolute rest you don’t improve, quite the opposite.”
Lionel Messi has also revealed previously he couldn’t always train due to the problem which “can’t be solved overnight.”
Sport say that Yamal is still training – but not at maximum intensity due to the busy fixture schedule and his current condition – as the club try to find the best way to manage his pubalgia.
