“Cobe” is back.
Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight prospect Jacobe Smith will step in on 12 days’ notice to face veteran Randy Brown in the UFC Vegas 123 co-main event next weekend (Sat., Oct. 31, 2026) inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Heavy.com was first to report the news.
Brown was originally scheduled to face Carlos Leal, but Leal was forced to withdraw from the Halloween showdown.
Smith (13-0) has yet to receive a full training camp for any of his four UFC appearances.
That hasn’t stopped the undefeated 30-year-old from absolutely demolishing his opposition.
“Cobe” is coming off a first-round knockout win over Bruce Whitehead at UFC 332, needing less than two minutes to dispatch the short-notice newcomer (watch highlights). Before that, Smith nuked Josiah Harrell in three minutes at UFC Houston earlier this year (watch highlights).
Smith will now attempt to finish 2026 with a perfect 3-0 record while picking up the biggest win of his young career.
Brown (20-8), meanwhile, badly needs a victory when he enters the Octagon on Halloween.
“Rudeboy” is riding a two-fight losing streak, falling to Gabriel Bonfim (watch highlights) in his first UFC main event before most recently losing to Kevin Holland — the same man Smith has repeatedly called out.
Brown is 4-3 across his last seven UFC appearances and represents a considerable step up in experience for the unbeaten prospect. However, accepting dangerous fights without a full camp has quickly become Smith’s specialty.
