On this week’s SB Nation Reacts survey, we asked the fanbase which Mizzou Football defensive newcomer are you most excited to watch this season.
Eli Drinkwitz and the staff loaded up via the transfer portal on the defensive side of the ball in the offseason – with defensive end Damon Wilson, linebacker Josiah Trotter, and safety Jalen Catalon among the notable names to watch.
In what may not be a surprise, Georgia transfer Damon Wilson topped the list of the defensive newcomers.

Josiah Trotter and Jalen
Catalon are intriguing and should make a big impact at their respective positions, but Damon Wilson is a former five-star recruit and anytime you can get a commitment from a program like Georgia is a statement addition.
He, alongside his former Georgia teammate Darris Smith will have the potential to make the defensive ends the strongest unit for Mizzou Football this season. From our position previews:
The biggest most exciting acquisition of the offseason was arguably Georgia defensive end transfer Damon Wilson. A former 5-star recruit, Wilson was making an impact at Georgia but, perhaps, was looking for a different role or perhaps just a bigger payday. Last season as a sophomore Wilson appeared in all 14 games for the Bulldogs and recorded 22 tackles including six for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two recoveries in 357 snaps on field.
