Manchester United will aim to make it three victories in a row when they welcome Brighton to Old Trafford this weekend.
All eyes were on Ruben Amorim in their previous matchday as Manchester United sent
shockwaves around the Premier League table by sealing a win over Liverpool at Anfield. The Red Devils left Merseyside with a jubilant mood as they registered maximum points at Liverpool’s home for the first time in almost a decade.
Man United followed their 2-0 victory over Sunderland with the 2-1 win against The Reds, thanks to goals from new signing Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire. The three points from the match helped Amorim’s men stay ninth in the league standings, a point clear of 10th-placed Brighton, who they meet on Saturday.
United aim to make Old Trafford a fortress this season to avoid last season’s debacles. They have secured three wins in each of their previous three home matches by beating Burnley, Chelsea and The Black Cats.
Meanwhile, Brighton come to this match on the back of a thrilling 2-1 victory over Newcastle United in their last game. Danny Welbeck scored in each half of the match to send The Seagulls to tenth place on the Premier League table.
Fabian Hurzeler’s men have kept just one clean sheet in their last 20 league matches, and they have found problems in defence, failing on numerous occasions to keep the opposition out from creating dangers. Solly March, Adam Webster and Jack Hinshelwood are sidelined with injuries, while Kaoru Mitoma, Joel Veltman and Brajan Gruda will undergo tests before the match for fitness.
Here are the predicted line-ups for the match ahead of kickoff:
Manchester United (3-4-2-1): Lammens; De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Cunha; Sesko.
Brighton (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Wieffer, Dunk, Van Hecke, Kadioglu; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Rutter, De Cuyper; Welbeck.
