The company took away most of the mystery over the course of the past few days, but we still weren’t sure how Ilja Dragunov would make his first AEW appearance at WrestleDream tonight (Oct. 17) in Orlando, Florida.
Turns out it would be by having Renee Paquette introduce him before the final two matches, and letting the Mad Dragon express his excitement about joining the company without words, but with his signature intensity.
Dragunov hasn’t wrestled since April, sitting out the last few months of his WWE contract. We’ve known for a while he would sign with Tony Khan’s company, and now the 33-year-old Russian has arrived.
As a big fan of Ilja’s brutal style, I’m very excited to see him in AEW. Glad to see he seems to be too. What about you, Cagesiders?
