More Lightweights are coming to “Rain City.”
Former Top-15 Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight Ignacio Bahamondes is stepping in on three weeks’ notice to take on former RIZIN champion Tofiq Musayev at UFC Seattle on Sat., March 28, 2026, inside Climate Pledge Arena. Musayev was originally scheduled to welcome Samuel Sanches to the Octagon.
MMA Junkie first reported the news.
For what it’s worth, both fighters competed at UFC Baku last year.
Bahamondes (17-6) had his impressive three-fight
win streak snapped in his last outing when he dropped a unanimous decision to Rafael Fiziev. Prior to the setback, “Nacho” rattled off three straight first-round finishes, stopping Jalin Turner (watch highlights), Manuel Torres, and Christos Giagos (watch highlights).
The 28-year-old currently holds a 6-3 record inside the promotion with five finishes and four “Performance of the Night” bonuses.
Musayev (22-6), meanwhile, will be looking to earn his first UFC victory later this month. The Azerbaijani standout lost his promotional debut at UFC Baku, getting submitted by Myktybek Orolbai in the first round (watch highlights).
Musayev was one of the UFC’s biggest international signings last year. The former RIZIN champion is widely regarded as one of the most exciting Lightweights in the sport, boasting 20 finishes in his 22 career wins — including a staggering 18 knockouts.
