Eduardo Quintero played his way deep into top-100 prospect lists with a strong 2025 season. His impression in Class-A was so good that he won California League MVP despite getting promoted with seven weeks still remaining in the season.
The Dodgers minor league outfielder, who turned 20 years old on Tuesday, hit .306/.426/.533 with a 160 wRC+, 14 home runs, 18 doubles, six triples, 35 stolen bases, 73 runs scored, and 53 RBI in 83 games for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
His season included winning California
League player of the week twice and was the circuit’s player of the month in May.
Quintero led the California League in OPS (.959), slugging percentage, and on-base percentage, and was third in batting average. Despite getting promoted to High-A in the last week of July, Quintero still finished tied for the league lead with his 14 home runs, and was tied for sixth with 35 stolen bases.
After getting promoted to High-A Great Lakes, Quintero kept it going with the Loons, hitting .259/.384/.440 with a 136 wRC+ in 32 games. He was ranked the 28th-best prospect in the sport by Baseball Prospectus in July, with MLB Pipeline tabbing Quintero at No. 53 in August, and Baseball America in their latest update ranked Quintero 56th.
Quintero is the first Quakes player to win Cal League MVP since Rylan Bannon in 2018. In the Dodgers’ 15 years of affiliation with Rancho Cucamonga — which has now ended, with Ontario set to begin play in 2026 — they had four league MVPs with the Quakes — Corey Seager (2014), DJ Peters (2017), Bannon, and Quintero.
