Rey Mysterio was out of his mind during the AAA Mega Championship contract signing at Ola de Calor (Aug. 30, 2026). He snapped with rage at Dominik Mysterio’s plan B and attacked a paying fan. That fan was the giant Omos. Rey then booked himself in a match against Omos for Triplemania, and there is a juicy stipulation involved.
To set the scene, Rey previously used his power as AAA general manager to suspend Omos indefinitely for putting hands on him. Omos is Dom’s backup for the upcoming mega title
defense against El Grande Americano. Entering the arena, Dominik didn’t trust that Dorian Roldan to convince Rey to lift the suspension, so he made a phone call to tease plan B.
The contract signing promo session started slow, but the payoff was great. El Grande Americano said his babyface piece and signed the dotted line. With Roldan’s efforts failed, Dom put plan B into motion.
Dominik demanded that Rey lift the suspension on Omos or else he won’t defend the mega title at Triplemania. Rey threatened to strip the championship from his son. EGA didn’t want to win the title like that. He pleaded with Rey to allow him the opportunity to win the championship in honor of Mexico and the people. That’s when Omos entered through the crowd.
Rey ordered that the giant to exit the arena. Omos pulled out a ticket as a paying fan. Omos patted little Rey’s head, and Dominik rubbed in the disrespect. Rey snapped to attack Omos with the microphone. Chaos, glorious chaos! EGA pulled Rey off Omos. Dirty Dom lived up to his nickname to attack EGA with a chair while his back was turned.
The general manager had an idea. If Omos wants his suspension lifted, then he has to go through Rey. Rey challenged Omos to a match at night one of Triplemania 34 in Las Vegas. If Omos wins, then the suspension is over. If Rey wins, then Omos leaves AAA forever. Dom was content with this arrangement, and he signed the contract. Dominik versus El Grande Americano for the AAA Mega Championship is official for night two of Triplemania 34 in Mexico City.
That was a very entertaining way to book Rey versus Omos. Rey’s overreach of authority was hilarious. You can push a good man only so far. Heck, that match is a draw to see if Rey can turn back the hands of time to slay the giant. The suspension stipulation adds an extra layer of intrigue.
