Newcastle United travels to Craven Cottage on Saturday for its Premier League MD10 game against Fulham, the last one before yet another international break.
Matthias Jaissle’s side enters the match following a 1-0 home defeat to Everton on Monday, its second consecutive loss across all competitions after a 3-1 Carabao Cup defeat to the same Toffees.
The Magpies have collected 11 points from nine Premier League matches and sit 13th in the table, just four points above the relegation zone but also four behind
Liverpool in fifth. Newcastle has scored in six consecutive away games but has struggled for consistency, winning three, drawing two and losing four of its league fixtures this season.
Joelinton is facing another spell on the sidelines after suffering a new injury, while Lewis Miley is progressing in his recovery. Matias Fernandez-Pardo has returned to training after missing more than two weeks with a virus, although his availability remains uncertain. Jacob Ramsey is suspended, and Ewen Jaouen remains injured.
Fulham, meanwhile, enters the weekend 15th in the Premier League with nine points from nine matches. Álvaro Arbeloa’s side has taken points in five of its last six league fixtures but is winless in its previous two—including an EFL Cup loss.
The London club most recently drew 1-1 away at Aston Villa and won the last meeting against the Magpies 2-0. Fulham has also won 23 of its 41 previous home encounters with Newcastle, compared with 13 victories for the Magpies.

On Lewis Miley and Joelinton injuries…
“Joelinton went out with an injury again, we need to make the final treatment plan for him and see how long he will be out.
“Lewis is getting better and better, showed a good reaction, he is making progress how I expected and wished for.”
On Fernandez-Pardo’s progress…
“Matias Fernandez-Pardo has had a heavy virus, he has been out for more than two weeks.
“He is progressing and training again with us, we will have to see how he is physically before Fulham.”
On seeing a reaction from his side…
“We spoke about Monday, we analysed in detail, we engaged as a group. We have such a good group, we have a good relationship with the players.
“We can really count on our togetherness. Everyone is fully committed.”
On looking ahead to Fulham…
“You see players, in their faces, they want to show a reaction. We need to step up in all the things we can influence, use every situation to make the smaller details better.”
On Sean Steur…
“It is on us to go again in the right direction and show better performances. Analyse in detail, speak and then regroup.
“He showed in the last match that he can contribute a lot of good things into our game even though the match against Everton was a bit different but he has so much potential.
“We need to find a way that’s he able to play more minutes as his progress is going in the right direction.”
