As ESPN continues to reveal their Top 10 lists for each position, the Eagles are quickly racking up nods as one of the best rosters in the league. They’ve already claimed one of the top running backs (Saquon Barkley), and two of the top cornerbacks (Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, plus votes for Riq Woolen), and now add two of the best defensive tackles (Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis) to the list.
None of the Eagles edge rushers made the Top 10 of their position, and among tight ends, Dallas Goedert
did earn some Top 10 votes but ultimately not enough to be ranked.
Here’s a look at what they said about the Eagles’ dominant interior defenders:
No. 3 — Jalen Carter
It seems as though Carter was hard for evaluators to rank given what some considered inconsistent performances and a dip in production in 2025, according to Fowler.
“He’s a problem,” a veteran NFL defensive coach said. “A game-wrecker. You feel his presence out there consistently.”
Several evaluators argued, however, that was not the case on every snap. A few voters said Carter is not the best defensive lineman on his own team, opting for Jordan Davis instead.
“He flashes 10 times a game but gets dragged far too often by average players,” an NFL coordinator said.
No. 10 — Jordan Davis
One veteran defensive coach said that while Carter was the better talent, Davis had the better season in 2025, and that’s hard to argue with, which explains why several evaluators had Davis ahead of Carter on their lists, according to Fowler.
Davis emerged as a star in his fourth season. The 2022 first-round pick was a 336-pound problem for guards and centers. Multiple voters picked Davis ahead of Carter, his DT running mate in Philly.
“He’s just so f‐‐‐ing strong and consistent,” an NFL coordinator said. “And he’s gotten better as he’s gotten older and in better shape.”
