Two more fighters have been removed from the UFC roster after its latest event in Mexico City with Erik Silva and Kris Moutinho joining Felipe Bunes and Jose Medina, MMA Fighting has confirmed the news with sources close to the situation.
Venezuela’s Silva (9-4) lost via first-round submission to Francis Marshall on the Feb. 28 show, dropping to 0-3 under the UFC banner.
The 38-year-old featherweight was stopped in every UFC appearance after a Contender Series victory over Anvar Boynazarov in 2022,
suffering a leg injury against Muhammad Naimov in between submission losses to TJ Brown and Marshall.
Moutinho (14-8) earned another chance in the UFC three years after his first 0-2 stint in the organization, and once again was let go after back-to-back defeats against Malcolm Wellmaker and now Cristian Quinonez.
Moutinho’s first UFC run between 2021 and 2022 had knockout losses to Sean O’Malley, which earned him a Fight of the Night bonus for his efforts, and Guido Cannetti.
