Joe Cowan: 5/10
Made a fantastic save late on as it looked like we were going to hold onto the win but then saw an effort spin in off his hand for the equaliser. Will be disappointed with the first goal too, spilling a relatively soft shot into the path of an opposition player. Unfortunately didn’t get near any of the penalties in the shootout.
Jenson Jones: 7/10
Got a bit of a soft booking early on but that didn’t stop him defending well throughout, tried to get forward often too.
Luke Bell (C): 7/10
A decent game at the back up against an experienced
player in Cole Stockton, held his own and always seemed to be in the right place.
Aji Alese: 8/10
Showed his experienced tonight, made numerous important defensive contributions. Flung himself at pretty much everything that came into the box but did get caught a bit flat-footed for the second.
Archie Lightfoot: 7/10
Didn’t get stretched down his side of the pitch much but didn’t factor too much going forward.
Jaydon Jones: 7/10
Got an assist when he quickly picked out Proctor following Ogunsuyi’s shot going straight at him. Tidy display otherwise in the middle of the pitch and almost got a goal himself but his header went comfortably over.
Jack Whittaker: 7/10
Did well to compete physically in midfield and showed quick feet when the home side tried to press him. Slipped as he was taking his penalty at the end and saw his effort soar into the night sky.
Felix Scott: 6/10
Worked hard down the right, with little coming his way. Was involved in the second goal, when he had a clumsy touch and pass in the build up but a pretty quiet night.
Tom Proctor: 8/10
Worked tirelessly from the number 10 position, getting into good positions going forward and tracking back often to help out defensively. Got a goal when he smashed the ball past the goalkeeper from close range, was also involved in the first goal when he won the ball back high up.
Timur Tutierov: 8/10
Picked out Ogunsuyi for the opening goal and scored the third himself, driving up the line from the half way line, cutting inside and curling inside the far post.
Trey Ogunsuyi: 7/10
Scored the first goal, with a finish just inside the near post and although he didn’t get much else to work with, he competed well with the home side’s centre backs.

We were on the back foot when he came on, so little chance to impress going forward but put in a shift.

Made some good blocks in the box with Accrington pushing for the equaliser that they would eventually get.

Man of the Match: Tom Proctor
There were some good displays tonight, with our most experienced players all playing well but I thought Proctor was the pick of our players. Led from the front with his non-stop running, in and out of possession. Made the first goal after he won the ball on the edge of the opposition 18-yard-box, then got on the scoresheet with the second, striking the ball over the goalkeeper from close range.
