, Borussia Dortmund will be without center-backs Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Süle when the team squares off with Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday:ℹ️ Personal update ahead of the Champions League home match against Atalanta: Nico Schlotterbeck (muscular issues) and Niklas Süle (thigh injury) were absent from the final training session and will not be available for tomorrow’s game.
This is a big blow for the Borussia Dortmund backline,
which will have to rely heavily on the experience of Waldemar Anton and Ramy Bensebaini to cover for Schlotterbeck and Süle. Emre Can is also banged up for the Black and Yellows.
It remains to be seen if Borussia Dortmund will trust Luca Reggiani to play a role. Reggiani, a U-19 player, subbed in for Süle after the former Bayern Munich star was injured in the team’s 4-0 win over Mainz 05 on Friday.
