This week’s survey looked forward to the Southern Cal Blackout game and, specifically, their quarterback Jayden Maiava and the Huskers’ ability to contain him. His first start for the Trojans happened
against the Huskers in their matchup in Los Angeles last season. How did you think the Blackshirts will fare in containing him in the rematch?
Then it looked back and asked for an updated assessment of Big 10 referees following their questionable performance against Northwestern. Needless to say, no one was comping their meals in Lincoln after the game – not that the tab is exorbitant for nibbling moldy cheese in an unfinished basement.
Scroll on down for the poll results:
- 58% of you are confident the Blackshirts secondary will keep Jayden Maiava in check, or at least limit the damage to under 250 yards.
- 39% think he will have very successful day throwing for up to 350 yards – perhaps the rush still proves ineffective?
- Only 3% think the Trojans QB will have a prolific day tossing for over 350 yards.
Shortening the questions for the graphic didn’t do the choices justice, so here’s the full descriptions again:
A) The Northwestern game wasn’t anything special, just dirty B1G business as usual. Nebraska’s up 2 TD’s? Crap marks and “abrupt movement”, here we come.
B) It could be accidental – maybe these fellows have just never been tested.
C) These non-stop incidents are honest mistakes. The zebras just become possessed and addled whenever the Huskers show momentum.
- After more than a decade of suspicious and surgical lousy calls, Three-Blind-Mice no-calls and criminal ball marks, 70% of you have no doubts – the fix is in when it comes to the zebras and Husker football.
- There’s not really any positive options here – 17% of you think the refs are “special” fellows who need some special examinations.
- And 13% believe the striped donkeys come under supernatural control whenever Nebraska starts to steadily outplay someone.
NATIONAL POLL RESULT
When questioned as to whether fans would prefer to keep pulling quick triggers on coaches – and paying through the nose to do it – or keep the coaches and start diverting that buyout money to NIL and strengthening the roster, they went putting money in the players pocket. But it was close.
