Melquizael Costa turned in one of the best knockouts of the year last night (Sat., Dec. 13, 2025) at UFC Vegas 112 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping featherweight challenger
Morgan Charriere with a blistering first-round head kick.
This 145-pound clash was one that fight fans were looking forward to and for good reason. Costa and Charriere are two exciting fighters who both possess well-rounded arsenals and offensive attacks. Charriere entered the contest as the slight betting underdog likely due to Costa’s 3-0 record in 2025, but he was going to be just as dangerous every step of the way.
The fight started out quick as both featherweights looked to land early on. After just over a minute of action Costa unloaded a vicious head kick. Charriere had his right arm up and appeared to partially block the kick, but it still wrapped around the back of his defense and connected with his head. The French fighter instantly went stiff and crashed to the canvas. Costa rushed in for a follow-up shot, but it wasn’t needed so he held back.
Check out the video highlights below:
Costa, 29, now pushes his current UFC win streak to five with a win over a tough name in the stacked featherweight division. This victory also gives Costa an undefeated UFC record of 4-0 in 2025, which is one of the best campaigns at 145 pounds this year. There’s no reason why Costa shouldn’t land a top 15 matchup his next time out, which should be in early 2026 after this quick 74-second knockout finish.
