Did anyone really think the league could compile their annual top 100 plays without turning it into a Warriors highlight reel? The NBA just released their definitive ranking of the season’s most jaw-dropping moments, and it reads like a love letter to everything we’ve been watching in the Bay Area. Stephen Curry isn’t just sprinkled throughout this list. He’s practically conducting the orchestra, orchestrating a masterclass in basketball artistry that reminds everyone why he’s redefined what’s possible
on a basketball court.
What strikes you when scanning through these plays isn’t just the frequency of Warriors appearances, but the variety—this isn’t a team that dominates through one dimension. The fact that Curry leads the charge shouldn’t shock anyone who’s watched him transform seemingly impossible shots into routine occurrences, but seeing the Warriors ecosystem represented so thoroughly validates what we’ve known all along: basketball looks different when the Warriors are involved, and Curry remains the artist painting with the boldest strokes on the biggest canvas.
#66 (5:56 timestamp on the video) is Curry with a full court hook pass over his head (and over Brandon Ingram) to Andrew Wiggins for an easy layup.
At #55 (2:11 on the video) it’s the Unanimous one again, this time covering Jalen Green in BBQ sauce and throwing him onto the grill live in the heart of Texas during the playoffs. To Green’s credit, there’s nothing he probably could have done better her to contest this shot besides bear hugging Curry as he activated the torture chamber jab-step dribble sequence.
A falling out of bounds fadeaway 25-footer over a man with the hand in the face is absolute madness. Or just another day in the office for the legendary point guard.
At #34 (2:31 on the video) Curry’s back at it again, this time terrorizing the Brooklyn Nets in New York. I documented just how incredible this shot making was at Dub Nation HQ:
“Let’s be crystal clear about what just happened: Steph Curry—already the greatest shooter in NBA history—just hit a turnaround fadeaway from the damn Brooklyn Nets logo with multiple defenders draped all over him like wet blankets at a pool party. And he drained it. With time expiring. Then casually jogged to the tunnel like he was picking up his mail.”
Hahahaha ARE YOU KIDDING ME. HOW WAS THIS NOT NUMBER ONE?!
Our first non-Steph Warrior entry into this hallowed highlights list. Ladies and gentlemen, is that Draymond Green’s music?! At #26 (6:34 on the video) Green gets some love for his work on the defensive end. He stonewalled the proficient young big man Alperen Sengun with the game on the line in a highly contested first round Game 4.
Sometimes defense gets overlooked in comparison to the flashy offensive moves we see. But trust me, if Sengun had scored and clinched the big postseason win over the former Defensive Player of the Year, that’d be a major highlight in itself. Shout out to Dray for locking that ish up when the Bay needed it most! Also bonus points for the well deserved woofing Dray did after the major stop.
At #10 (starting the video) here comes the GOAT Curry again. This one was especially sweet because it came with his buddy and former teammate Kevin Durant in attendance. Clock winding down, racing up the court, Curry was met by four Phoenix defenders. The ball handling evaporated three of the defenders, but as he floated to his left, there was still another guy to get the shot up over with time near zero. No problem, as Curry hit a flying leaning off-balance floater from the free throw line extended!?!?!?!?!
WOW. WOWOWOW. I see why KD left Phoenix.
Anyways, shout out to our Dubs for giving us the most entertaining basketball in the league, spearheaded by their two old faithfuls Curry and Green.
