Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano is set to continue discussing terms with the club on an extension that would take his current deal beyond the end of the season.
From Sport Bild, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Contract talks with Dayot Upamecano are expected to resume soon. Talks were put on hold during the transfer window. The sticking points remain a higher salary and a potential release clause. Securing Upamecano’s future is now a priority for Bayern [@BILD]
Upamecano should not be short of options
should he choice to leave the Bundesliga.
BFW Analysis
Yeah…Upamecano is extremely important.
When he first arrived and in his earlier years with the club, the Frenchman was panned for making a number of high profile mistakes, including in key Champions League fixtures. But such is the life of a center-back. The 26-year-old is Bayern’s most gifted defender and the club cannot afford to lose him. Kim Min-jae looked to be on the verge of being forced out of the club this summer and though he ended up staying, you get the sense his time in Bavaria is short.
And if you just watched Jonathan Tah for Germany during the international period…
Yeah. Sign Upamecano up and fast.
