Elon running back T.J. Thomas has committed to transferring to Minnesota.
He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Thomas saw the field as soon as he set foot on campus at Elon, rushing for a combined 972 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 5.4 yards per carry in two seasons with the Phoenix. He also returned 28 kickoffs in his two years at Elon, averaging 24.5 yards per kickoff return.
Thomas and Purdue transfer Jaron Thomas (no relation) will add depth to a Minnesota running backs room set to return Darius Taylor, A.J. Turner, and redshirt freshmen Grant Washington and Xavier Ford, in addition to three incoming freshmen.
