Let’s head into hump day strong.
Lead Rumor: Another TNA surprise
TNA has been under the microscope for a few reasons recently, from Tommy Dreamer’s departure (and controversy around that, but more on that later) to talks of the company being up for sale. They’ve also got Slammiversary coming up this weekend and are gearing up in a big way for that.
That includes bringing back Amazing Red and booking a former multi-time singles champion from WWE for the show. It’s still unclear exactly who that may be.
Well, according to PW Insider
there are even more surprises planned. They say TNA is also bringing in one of its Hall of Fame members for a role at Slamm, and there has been a creative pitch for a Hall of Famer to be a part of the show.
Kurt Angle? Abyss? The Beautiful People? ODB? Stay tuned.
Other rumors floating around
- Per the Observer, WWE is hopeful Chad Gable’s new theme song will catch on and fans will start singing along to it.
- PW Insider brings word again that Road Dogg is expected to join TNA and they go on to say he has a close relationship with the head writer of NXT, Johnny Russo, so Dogg joining the creative team would be a positive for the relationship between TNA and WWE. A deal isn’t done yet but is apparently 99-percent of the way there.
- According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bully Ray’s comments on beating the shit out of Jon Moxley and getting into it with Josh Barnett was just a way to create a new controversy to get heat off Tommy Dreamer.
- Meltzer also said Mick Foley won’t be at Forbidden Door because he already had a contractual obligation that he couldn’t get changed.
Get in on this.
