West Virginia men’s soccer climbed to No. 3 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, marking the Mountaineers’ highest ranking of the 2025 season ahead of tonight’s home match against American. The Mountaineers enter
at 8-1-2 overall and 4-0-0 in the Sun Belt, riding a seven-match unbeaten streak that includes wins over two ranked opponents.
Goalkeeper Marc Bonnaire, the reigning Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week, earned the honor after a 2–0 shutout of then-No. 6 Georgia Southern on October 4. Bonnaire leads the league with five clean sheets and a 0.64 goals-against average, anchoring a defense that has allowed just eight goals all season.
Offensively, Pablo Pozos paces the Sun Belt with eight goals, while Marcus Caldeira has added seven goals and six assists. WVU has outscored opponents 25–8 this fall and held six teams scoreless.
