Good morning everyone –
We’re on Day 4 of the international break and I’m already breaking out the kitten content.
Major news broke out last week about a new kitten discovery:
According to this feature in NatGeo, a new cat species was discovered
for the first time in more than a century.
Leopardus tilcayo — or the tilcayo tiger cat — is smaller than your typical domestic feline and lives in a Bolivian forest. It’s got these cute little spots. In fact, the cat was actually initially mistaken to be a domestic kitten, NBC News reported. A man had tried to feed it but took it to a sanctuary after realising he was unable to take care of it.
And, according to researchers, the new species of cat is believed to be in danger.
It’s a really great looking cat with some sharp-looking teeth, lovely brown eyes and black stripes on its head. It’s just a shame the videos we have it so far don’t show the kitty in action, but maybe it’s something we’ll see more of the more we learn about it.
