The Cleveland Browns have officially signed former Ohio State offensive tackle Thayer Munford Jr. and moved Dawand Jones to injured reserve following his knee injury against the Packers.
Munford was signed
off of the New England Patriots’ practice squad today, with Jack Conklin working through an elbow injury that’s kept him out of the last two games for Cleveland. The Browns desperately need to find quality depth alongside K.T. Leveston, as it’s looking like it could be another rough year for the offensive tackle room.
Munford, who was a 7th-round pick in 2022 by the Las Vegas Raiders, has started 18 games and played in 46 for the Raiders before joining New England in 2025.
The 6’6”, 315-pound offensive tackle has been an above-average run blocker at right tackle throughout his career, and he brings youth to Cleveland’s offensive line room in 2025.
We’re still waiting to see whether or not Jack Conklin will be ready to go on Sunday, and the team’s first week 4 injury report comes out today. Hopefully, he’ll log a couple of “limited” practices heading into the Lions game.
