Giants fans who were trepidatious about the additions of Matt Nagy and Greg Roman as offensive architects have to feel great about what they saw in Week 1. The Giants were the league’s second-best offense during the opening week of the season by EPA per play, trailing only the Bears. Their 58% success rate was second behind the Jaguars. The only reason they didn’t
score more points was time; the Giants used more time per play than anybody else in the league and had only seven possessions in their 28-20 victory over Dallas.
As a passer, Dart didn’t have a huge game working from under center, going 5-of-7 for 39 yards with a 2-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Likely. In all, though, the Giants looked comfortable majoring under center, something they ran only 20% of the time while Dart was on the field a year ago. It’s a positive sign for their offensive progress, although the Rams might offer a more imposing defense to Dart this week on “Monday Night Football.”

Starting in West Virginia and continuing in New Jersey, seemingly every day of training camp, Jaxson Dart and Isaiah Likely would be standing together talking football. They would chat up different route concepts, the rules to follow for offscript plays and, above all else, gain comfort in the trust between them.

Dart said Donald’s “real impact on the game” — beyond his 111 sacks, eight first-team All-Pro selections and three Defensive Player of the Year awards — stems from how offenses must scheme around him.
“For the longest time that I can remember, he’s one of the most dominant players that I’ve watched,” Dart said. “So getting the chance to go out there and compete against him, it’s going to be really cool, just to be on the same field as him. He’s a great player, and I’ve heard that he’s kept himself in really good shape. So it’s going to be a great competition. There’s countless clips of putting three offensive linemen on him and [Donald] still being able to make a play. So he’s an unbelievable player and has had an unbelievable career.”

Players always say they need to clean up whatever mistakes they made in one game before they hit the field for the next game. Dru Phillips is in that mode this week.
The third-year cornerback was called for three pass interference penalties in the season-opening 28-20 victory over the Cowboys.

Harbaugh’s resume gave him instant credibility throughout the organization and in the locker room. But the buy-in could fade if the results don’t follow the hard work. That’s why Sunday’s impressive start has made the Giants even stronger believers in Harbaugh’s methods.
“I don’t think anyone would shy away from saying it was the hardest training camp of their career,” 10th-year veteran right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor said. “I’ve been around Harbs (in Baltimore), and this was a physical-ass training camp. Now you know why you run that many plays in practice, why you hit as much, why you do those practices, why you lift as much as we do, how hard we work because you go out there on Sunday and, you really beat a team up like that.”

[Extremely John Harbaugh voice] The New York GIANTS are legit contenders. I’ll admit it! I was overconfident that the Giants would stumble out of the gate. I (like an idiot) was high on the Cowboys offense and expected Dallas to experience some positive defensive regression after letting Matt Eberflus loose and replacing him at DC with football nerd icon Christian Parker. But Harbaugh’s new disgusting brothers in the booth— offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and assistant Greg Roman —took out a paddle and spanked the silver off the Cowboys’ pants for all to see.
I’m a believer in the tone the Giants want to set and Skattebo’s ability to set it, but I am not buying fully in just yet. The only defense worse than Big Blue’s in Week 1 (again, by EPA per drive) was Parker’s disasterclass. Let’s see Harbaugh and his guys throw the same haymakers against the Rams with Sean McVay and Co. in a must-win spot coming off their Melbourne embarrassment.

The five-word slogan is aimed at those who may be struggling with their mental health, especially athletes, with the goal of helping them realize that toughness isn’t defined by a lack of vulnerability, the Bonners said. They believe, along with Jones, that there is strength — and life — in speaking up. Last November wasn’t the first time Jones teamed up with Mission 34, having represented the organization during his New York Giants days, and it won’t be his last. Jones considers it a worthy cause, and he’s keenly aware of the NFL spotlight he wields.
