The clock is already ticking on a Tyreek Hill trade | NBC Sports
So if the ship continues to sink, Hill becomes an asset that can be flipped into a draft pick.
For now, there are two teams to watch. First, the Chiefs. For obvious reasons. Hill starred in Kansas City until his desire for more money (and perhaps to not be in the shadow of Patrick Mahomes and/or Travis Kelce) sparked a trade. During his apology tour in advance of Super Bowl LIX, Hill admitted on PFT Live that he sometimes regrets leaving
the Chiefs. And the Chiefs could use him, before and after Rashee Rice returns from his six-game suspension.
Second, the Steelers. There’s already chatter, in the aftermath of Sunday’s win over the Jets, that the all-in Steelers could go even more all-in by making a move for Hill.
Yes, Pittsburgh already has receiver DK Metcalf, who’s making $30 million per year on a five-year deal. But the Steelers don’t have a clear cut No. 2. Hill would be 1b (if not, at times, 1a) to Metcalf.
NFL Top-10 Rankings: Eagles Start Where They Left Off, With Packers, Bills Lurking | FOX Sports
0-1
A surprising early-season loss drops the defending AFC champs down the charts, but Patrick Mahomes & Co. remain a top-10 team.
Eagles at Chiefs
This Super Bowl rematch has seen the line turn on its head. Initially, Kansas City opened as a slight 1.5-point favorite at home. However, after Philly’s win in the season opener and the Chiefs dropping to the Chargers last Friday, we’ve seen this line shift toward the Eagles, who are now laying 1.5 points on the road. Last season, the Chiefs were 4-6 ATS at home, but were never gave up points as a home dog. Meanwhile, the Eagles went 3-2 ATS as a road favorite in 2024.

Loser: OT Jawaan Taylor, Kansas City Chiefs
Friday brought the regular-season debut of Chiefs rookie left tackle Josh Simmons. Against a talented, Jim Harbaugh-coached defense, one might have excused the rookie for a rough outing.
Simmons did have a few rookie moments, including a holding penalty, but he looked like a seasoned pro compared to right tackle Jawaan Taylor. The six-year veteran was flagged multiple times for holding and for false starts, at one point earning him an earful from tight end Travis Kelce.
For the Chiefs, it was a sloppy overall night, which began with No. 1 receiver Xavier Worthy getting knocked from the game with a shoulder injury. Taylor was a liability, though, and he could be a problem for Kansas City moving forward.
Chiefs-Chargers Week 1 game in Brazil draws 16.2 million YouTube viewers in U.S. | The Athletic
Broadcast options ranged from the main feed (featuring Rich Eisen and Kurt Warner) to an NFL-themed comedian to Spanish-language influencers to IShowSpeed, whose “Watch With” feature drew thousands of his 43 million subscribers flooding his chat window and encouraging him to thank them for paying for membership in his fan base.
As for the game itself, the best news was that it totally felt like a game a fan would watch on Sunday afternoon on CBS or Fox. Nothing about the YouTube-ness felt like it got in the way of watching a regular-season game. (NBC was behind the production.) In fact, the on-screen score bug drew praise on social media and elsewhere for its cleanliness.
One interesting (if inexact) comparison: When Amazon Prime Video aired its first NFL game — Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, coincidentally also between the Chiefs and Chargers — Nielsen said the game had 13 million viewers. In the three years since, the percentage of people who consume streaming video on TV has eclipsed the percentage consuming either through traditional broadcast or cable. And YouTube itself accounts for 13 percent of all TV viewing, as of July 2025, per Nielsen.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy maintains a grudge with the Bills | Chiefs Wire
The former Texas Longhorns star appeared as a guest on the most recent episode of ‘The Pivot podcast’ to share his feelings on Buffalo.
“Obviously, people say he’s just talking,” said Worthy, “but if you really look at it, that’s like saying they really don’t want you, their pick is there, and they traded it away, and they needed a receiver, and they end up drafting a receiver, and then it plays out like that. I mean, you can’t ask for anything better.”
In the 2024 AFC Championship victory over the Bills, Worthy caught six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. He had a stellar rookie season with 59 receptions for 638 yards and six touchdowns.

The Bo Nix sophomore slump is real
Bo Nix put together a pretty good rookie season. With a loaded defense behind him, there was plenty of reason for Broncos optimism this year if Nix could take another step as a sophomore. Nix was more prepared than most rookie QBs at 24 years old after six years of college, but he never had the natural talent of his peers at the top of the 2024 draft. Nix was totally ineffective against an average Bills defense in his one playoff game last year, and he never got into a rhythm in a one-score Week 1 win over the lowly Titans. Nix finished with 40 pass attempts for only 176 yards, and got picked off twice. A win is a win in the NFL, but Nix should have looked a lot better against the Titans if he was really poised for a breakout season. I love the Denver defense, but I do not trust Bo Nix in the slightest.
Monday Night Football: Vikings rally for 27-24 win over Bears | NBC Sports
The Vikings rallied for a 27-24 come-from-behind victory on Monday Night Football.
The visitors scored three touchdowns in a 9:20 stretch of the fourth quarter on drives of 60, 50 and 68. McCarthy threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Justin Jefferson and a 27-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Jones, and McCarthy ran for a 14-yard touchdown.
The Vikings outgained the Bears 169 to 63 in the fourth quarter.
McCarthy, a first-round pick in 2024 who missed his entire rookie season with a right knee injury, finished his debut 13-of-20 for 143 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He ran for 25 yards and a touchdown on two carries.
Jefferson caught four passes for 44 yards and a touchdown, and Jones caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Chiefs News: Andy Reid expects more of team — and believes he’ll get it
“I’m not judging anybody in here,” he explained to a curious reporter in São Paulo before Friday night’s International Series game against the Los Angeles Chargers, “other than we’re all good folks and we’re shooting for the best for this game tomorrow for both teams; it should be a heck of a football game. But I always try to live by that… yes.”
But after the team’s flat performance led to a 10-0 deficit on Friday night — and ultimately, a rare 27-21 season-opening loss — Reid has been uncharacteristically terse about the team’s performance.
“I expect more than that,” he told reporters in Brazil after the game. “I need to make sure we come out with better emotion. It’s a nice, big stage for us against a good football team. They made a couple of plays early, got things going. And we weren’t able to do that. And I thought [the Chargers] did a better job in that area.”
While Reid did — as he always does — continue to accept the ultimate responsibility for having his players physically and emotionally prepared for game days, it was still possible to read his dissatisfaction between the lines.
“Listen, I’m on the sidelines,” he said on Friday night. “I expect there to be emotional support there. I also expect the players to fly around and do things that I’ve seen us do. Again, it’s my responsibility to get them in that frame of mind to do that, whether you have an injury [or] a turnover, whatever it is. You fight through that and you make yourself better, whatever situation you’re in.”
