If the latest reporting from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg is true, things might be escalating quickly between Bayern Munich and Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.
Plettenberg says that Bayern Munich has already targeted a figure of up to €70 million to procure Gordon from the Magpies:
🚨🔴 Anthony #Gordon is currently FC Bayern’s top target for the left wing as reported last night. The current estimated transfer fee for a summer move is €60-70 million. Bayern are ready to invest
that amount if Gordon agrees.
It now largely depends on Gordon, while Bayern, led by Eberl/Freund, are keeping alternative options open. #NUFC
While Gordon’s primary position (left wing) is currently occupied by Luis Díaz, he could provide competition at that spot and also bring the ability to play right wing, striker, and as an attacking midfielder as well.
For those seeking to dismiss this rumor (and you might be correct it could be nonsense), there is a history of interest in Gordon from Bayer Munich:
