On Thursday, the Indianapolis Colts announced that the team signed offensive tackle Charlie Heck to their 53-man active roster and offensive guard Joshua Gray to their practice squad.
Indianapolis also released veteran linebacker Germaine Pratt from their taxi team, who was elevated from their practice squad due to rookie linebackers CJ Allen and Bryce
Boettcher both being inactive in Week 7 with injuries. Pratt recorded 3 tackles during last Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
He started 12 games for the Colts in 2025, recording 101 tackles (57 solo), 5 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 6 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries.
Originally a 2020 4th round pick of the Houston Texans, the 29-year-old Heck is listed at 6,‘8”, 311 pounds, and has also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Miami Dolphins organizations. He’s appeared in 67 career games, making 29 starts during his 6-year NFL career.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Gray was initially signed as an undrafted rookie free agent guard back in 2025 by the Atlanta Falcons, but has since joined the Carolina Panthers and Minnesota Vikings practice squads. He was formerly 3x All-Pac 12 with Oregon State.
It’s worth noting that the Colts also recently signed cornerback Kenneth Harris to their 53-man active roster and placed cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt (groin) on injured reserve. Taylor-Britt’s injury is not expected to be season-ending, but he’ll miss at least the team’s next four games.
