That will be interesting. You don’t think Cousins goes into camp as QB1? I’m not so sure but maybe. Either way Mendoza will get plenty of time to get ready.

It’s hard to guess since Mendoza is going to do everything he can to be prepared for camp, but Cousins has a ton of experience and already worked with Kubiak. I’d give Cousins the nod early at least in terms of getting more snaps, see if the arm isn’t worse off, etc. Cousins has very good pocket presence, can scramble well enough to get out of trouble and get yards.

The arm will get him in trouble if he tries to do too much now though. Ad lib plays and trying to buy time will likely result in too many duck balls. What was happening to him at the end of ’24 season. I’m guessing it probably ends up a Carr-Schaub situation. Fern will show he’s ready for the jump up and with PS play, is just the better option.
