Barcelona boss Hansi Flick says he wants an explanation as to why Ferran Torres’ goal was ruled out for offside during Wednesday’s win over Celta Vigo.
Torres volleyed home a fine strike from a great pass by Pedri in the second half and thought he had made it 2-0 to Barcelona.
However, the goal was then disallowed for offside but the image that was released sparked controversy and left Flick bemused by the decision to rule it out.
“We can do better because we have quality, but my feeling is that the second goal, Ferran’s, was a goal. I’d like an explanation as to why it was ruled offside. I saw the photo, the same one you all saw,” he said after the game.
It’s not the first time that this has happened, either. Torres was denied a goal in similar circumstances just a few weeks ago against Espanyol when Eric Garcia was deemed to be offside in the build up.
