The opening match of the Crown Jewel premium live event at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia featured Bronson Reed defeating Roman Reigns in a singles match. My simply writing it out does not do justice
to what it means for a wrestler to defeat Reigns via pinfall in a singles match, one-on-one. The only other guy to do it over the past five years is Cody Rhodes, who won the title and finished the story at WrestleMania.
That’s how much it means.
It’s a really big deal!
To that end, it’s time to start talking about Reed as the main event level player he has slowly become, and during the post-show, Triple H did just that:
“For Bronson, this solidifies where he is. He’s in a top spot right now. He should be exactly where he is. He should be at the top of the food chain. I think the whole world saw a new monster created tonight.”
The whole idea of Reed — and Bron Breakker, for that matter — joining up as members of The Vision was to elevate them and I’d say it’s going swimmingly. Seth Rollins, the leader of said group, defeated Rhodes to become the new Crown Jewel champion later in the show.
The entire crew is riding high, and Reed is well and truly here.
Agreed?
