The Chicago Bears refuse to name a QB1 ahead of the New York Jets game.
Oh, Ben Johnson, you cheeky bastard.
Don’t you think the Jets have enough to worry about week to week? Now we have to spend time pondering who is playing quarterback? Good grief!
“The direction’s already been made, so we’ll be in good shape for Sunday” … “It’s not hard for me at all” … “I feel really good about all three quarterbacks in that room. And I know all three of them can win ball games for us,” Johnson said this week via
ESPN’s Courtney Cronin.
It won’t be Caleb Williams, who is dealing with a multi-week hamstring injury. It’s down to the old man, Case Keenum, or the promised prince, typical QB2 Tyson Bagent.
I’m sure we are all on the edge of our seats for this decision, but for the Jets it’s rather simple. In either scenario, you’ll be facing off against a backup QB, whether it’s the second-string or third-string guy.
To channel my inner Adrian from Rocky II, “There’s one thing I want you to do for me. Come here. Win.”
Jets, you’re facing off against someone’s backup. You have an inherent advantage. Take advantage of it. Find a way to win on the road, get back to .500, and take control of your season while it hangs in the balance early on.
