Subriel Matias will defend the WBC super lightweight title tonight against mandatory challenger Dalton Smith, headlining a pay-per-view card from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
You may recall Matias having
failed a drug test in November. His B-sample also came back positive for Ostarine, but the level of the drug in his system was below the threshold for any punishment from the New York commission, so the fight remained on, and the WBC believes he was the victim of a tainted supplement given the low levels. Either way, the fight is on.
The card is being promoted by Fresh Productions, and will feature a number of veterans on the undercard, including former titlist Emmanuel Rodriguez, ex-Olympian Jeyvier Cintron, and more.
We’ll be here with live results in the post as the fights end, as well as discussion in the comments section.
