Sports fans tend to be optimistic about their teams. This is particularly true with a team like the Portland Trail Blazers. For decades they were the only major sports franchise in a modest-sized city. Their fans are passionate, hopeful, and steadfast in their beliefs.
Even in the most optimistic of relationships, things don’t work out sometimes. 405 players have suited up for the Trail Blazers in franchise history. Only 15 do so now. Some of those names will change before the new season starts next
October.
That’s why we want to go against type a little bit today and ask this question:
Which Trail Blazers player’s career do you, personally, think has dead-ended now? We’re not talking about being in a cul-de-sac, waiting to emerge on main street again. We mean truly the end of the road. We’re looking for the person who makes you go, “With all due respect, I think this player has reached their highest plateau and it’s not high enough. I’m ok cutting bait on this experiment to make way for something new.”
All current Blazers players are open for consideration. Nobody is off limits. Obviously people will have different answers. That’s ok. Try not to tear each other down for your responses. Offer reasoning for your thinking and let’s see if the community has any consensus on this matter. The comments section is open below.
