Barcelona are set to face Real Madrid on Sunday in El Clasico in a game that will see the two old rivals renew hostilities once again in the Spanish top flight.
Ahead of the game, a new report has claimed
that Xabi Alonso has already identified a “weak spot” in the Barcelona team and wants his side to take advantage.
The Madrid boss reportedly thinks that while Lamine Yamal is Barca’s best player, along with Pedri, he is a weak link when it comes to tracking back and defending, according to Defensa Central.
Alonso therefore wants his team to try to hurt Barcelona down Yamal’s flank. “We have to attack him there, we can do damage… ” is apparently the word from the dressing room.
Madrid head into the game after losing all four matches against Barcelona last season and will surely be out for revenge after their bitter rivals.
They will face a Barcelona team without several key stars due to injury. Raphinha is expected back in time for the game but Joan Garcia, Gavi and Robert Lewandowski will all be missing.
