The Ravens have unveiled their inactives for their Week 5 matchup with the Texans, and it is hard to imagine a more impactful list of players to be sidelined.
This might be the most talented group of game day inactives, at least in Ravens history. Combined, they have 20 Pro Bowls and 11 first-team All-Pro selections, and take up $88.4 million in cap space. If you throw in in Nnamdi Madubuike, Ar’Darius Washington and Broderick Washington, that goes up to 22 Pro Bowls and over $120 million. The only undecorated is Chidobe Awuzie, who was playing some excellent ball to start the year.
Every absence except Hamilton had already been decided on Friday. There was some hope he would play because the Ravens did not elevate any defensive backs from the practice squad. Instead, the team will roll with a seven-man secondary – four cornerbacks and three safeties.
It will be interesting to see if Sanoussi Kane or Reuben Lowery take on more snaps in Hamilton’s absence. The Ravens have not shown a clear preference between the two this season and may use Kane in the box and Lowery as a free safety, which would give the latter a bigger role.
