From having their 2026 NFL draft first-round picks officially placed in the order to continuing their head coach search, the Cleveland Browns have some things going on around the team. The NFL rules slightly limit teams’ ability to go through the head coach interview process while the NFL playoffs are going on. The results from the opening weekend could lead to a few more candidates and a few more teams looking for a new lead man
.For the Browns, John Harbaugh has been the main focus for fans, but
former Miami Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel, with his interesting history in Cleveland, is the second biggest name connected to the team.
The offensive mastermind is scheduled to interview for the Browns head coaching position on Monday:
McDaniel spent four years in Miami with a combined 35-33 record with two playoff appearances. A very creative offensive mind, McDaniel’s squads have not always been the most disciplined, but the Dolphins often had a very explosive offense despite Tua Tagovailoa’s limitations.
With the interview, McDaniel will officially be the sixth completed by the team so far:
- OC Tommy Rees and DC Jim Schwartz
- Seahawks DC Aden Durde and Bengals OC Dan Pitcher
- (Former?) Ravens OC Todd Monken
The team’s social media has made each interview official with a post as well as an article about each candidate, so we should see one soon about McDaniel.
Now that his interview is official, what are your thoughts on Mike McDaniel as a candidate for the Browns head coaching position?
