Lakers fans have been blessed to start this season.
Five of LA’s first six games have featured a 40-point performance from their backcourt of Austin Reaves and Luka Dončić. The pairing is going back and forth
with their record-setting starts to the season, but they’re also building quite the friendship as well.
Fans first got a look at their relationship when Reaves let Luka know about his missed free throws that cost him a 50-point game against the Wolves.
After a handful of games where the pair didn’t share the court, they reunited against the Grizzlies on Friday and were right back at it.
During the game, Luka looked like he hadn’t missed a beat, scoring 44 points with 12 rebounds and six assists. Reaves took a bit of a backseat, but still finished with 21 points, four rebounds and four assists. Behind the pair, the Lakers opened the NBA Cup with a victory.
Once the game ended, the two started the back and forth once again, starting on the court.
Once in the locker room, it only continued with Luka interrupting Reaves’ media scrum and then sharing his thoughts on Reaves in his own postgame presser.
The vibes are always better when you’re winning, and the Lakers have had plenty of those to open the season. Considering how different the vibes are for their opponents right now, it’s a very pleasant sight to see.
Here’s to the two of them having plenty more of these moments after wins this season.
