Half of the Pharm has finished their 2026, but the IronPigs and Fightin Phils are still in action. Fall beckons, baseball goes on.
Worcester 8, Lehigh Valley 7
A four run sixth gave the IronPigs a lead, but they couldn’t defend it, falling just short agains the WooSox. Kameron Misner, Keaton Anthony, and Colby Thomas had two hits apiece; both of Anthony’s went for extra bases (double, HR). Gabriel Rincones, Jr and Otto Kemp had tough days, both going 0 for 5. None of the IronPigs worked a free pass.
Starter Casey Lawrence went five innings, allowing five runs on five hits (three homers), with five Ks. Kirby Snead took the blown save and the loss, thanks to a two-run homer allowed in the ninth. The IronPigs will finish the regular season with a half-dozen games in Syracuse, starting Tuesday.
Reading 17, Erie 7
It was the final game of the regular season for the Fightin Phils, and they made it one to remember. The Fightins put up 17 runs on 16 hits, scoring in six of their eight innings. A five-run fourth was surpassed by an eight-run seventh. Bryan Rincon was three for four with a walk and two roundtrippers , putting five RBI on the board. Aroon Escobar was two for two, with two RBI, Austin Murr was two for three with a pair of free passes. Carson DeMartini was two for three with a roundtripper. Starter Ryan Dromboski got the win with five innings of work, striking out eight and allowing four runs on four hits and four walks. The Fightin Phils will start the Eastern League Division Series against the Hartford Yard Goats on Tuesday.
