According to a report from Kicker journalist Mario Krischel (via @iMiaSanMia
), Bayern Munich has scrapped the idea of selling center-back Kim Min-jae and will now keep him. With the transfer window coming to a close in just a few days and an unofficial mandate to just accept players on loan and not make any full transfers, it would have likely proven to be too hard to find a replacement for the Korean:Kim Min-jae is now set to stay at Bayern, after he was a candidate for sale in the past few weeks.
Unless a huge offer comes in for the defender – for example from Saudi Arabia – in the remaining days of the window, the Korean defender will continue to play for Bayern this season.
To make the final days of this transfer window a little more complex, it appears that Bayern Munich would accept an obligation to buy on a loaned player, but the terms would have to be dictated by the Bavarians per Krischel:
Bayern are open to signing a player on loan with or without an option to buy. But if it comes to an obligation to buy, Bayern would only agree to that if it’s on their terms and guarantees the best possible outcome for the club.
It seems that a move is likely to happen before the deadline to bolster the attack, but it likely will not be anything that will be game-changing.
Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig locked horns for what was anticipated as a clash of titans to raise the curtain for the forthcoming Bundesliga season, but what followed was a massacre of Biblical proportions. Bayern had looked shaky in their last few outings, and Leipzig had a lot to prove after some big changes in the team, which meant that both teams, while possessing some massive talents, had chips on their shoulders and something to strive towards.
Helping us dissect the corpse left in Bayern’s wake is Rayyan (Cyler), returning to the pod after a lengthy hiatus to perform some semblance of autopsy, although it seems this game was far more about the pure joy of watching what happened than picking apart the details of what actually did happen. In this edition, we feature:-
- A run-down of the starting XI and shape of both teams.
- The series of events that led to the defining moments of the game, and patterns from before that re-emerged.
- Some final (giddy) thoughts of what this Bayern team could look like going forward.
- A lot, a lot, a lot, of uncontrollable giddy giggling at the mere thought of this match’s existence (sorry).
