Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Monday, Aug. 3, 2026.
- Dana White admits Ian Garry ‘poses a serious threat’ to Islam at UFC 330, lauds ‘excellent’ takedown defense: By virtue of being a large, skilled, and intelligent Welterweight, Garry is a definitely a threat. He’s been in there with the best too!
- Dana White not a fan of Serbian flare brigade at UFC Belgrade: ‘I hope I never see that again’: I know this has to be Dana’s position as head of the company, but he’s never beating the “hates fun” allegations. Flares rule!
- MVP head Nakisa Bidarian sees ‘massive enterprise value’ in paying fighters 50 percent of revenue: As much as I’d like to see fighter pay improve, I don’t know that revenue percentages are swaying any new fans to tune in.
Insomnia
Rest in Peace Allan Nascimento.
True or false: the UFC Heavyweight
division was healthier when Francis Ngannou was atop the mountain?
How did I not know this happened?!?
My favorite MMA meme of the week:
Nothing to see here, everything above board.
Is a basketball background the best base for MMA? There’s a bit of precedent, just ask “The Suga Show.”
All respect to the Polish legend, but I hope Blachowicz retires after his UFC Belgrade defeat.
Slips, rips, and KO clips
The right hand got the job done, but the slam was a nice cherry on top.
Not a great reaction to being taken down with an arm trapped:
Reminder: UFC cut Muradov after an 11-second eye poke “No Contest.” Killer right hand!
