Last time out, Texas A&M completed a historic comeback to defeat South Carolina 31-30. Next up for the Aggies is a 1-10 FCS Samford squad that fired its coach earlier this season. We don’t have to pretend
here. The Aggies ought to be able to handle the Bulldogs relatively easily. With that in mind, this preview is going to be pretty quick. Let’s get into it.
Offensive Line
The mission for the starting offensive line is simple. Dominate, stay healthy, keep the quarterback upright. The Aggies should jump out to an early lead in this one, allowing for the younger members of the offensive line to rotate in. That’s where I’m really going to be looking for key indicators.
When the reserve offensive linemen, players like Robert Bourdon, Lamont Rogers, and Blake Ivy, rotate in, I’m going to be watching to see how they communicate. Do they play with technical precision against an opposing front that isn’t as talented? How do they adjust to true game speed? Given how experienced the starting group is, we’ll be looking at the future. This will be a key moment for determining areas of need in development.
Defensive Line
I can pretty much copy and paste the offensive line breakdown here for the defensive line.
Dominate, no penalties, stay healthy.
As far as the younger pieces I hope to see involved on the defensive line, Marco Jones has already worked into the rotation, but I hope to see a heavier dose. DJ Sanders, Solomon Williams, and Landon Rink should also factor heavily into the rotation as Texas A&M gets ready to replace a lot of talent up front in 2026.
Quick and to the point. Texas A&M should dominate Samford on Saturday and move to 11-0.
