Woohoo!
We got another notch in the win column last week and these Huskers are ready to roll against USC tomorrow. It’ll be a tough game, but the Huskers are going to push through and start November with a victory!
#1 NO EXTRACURRICULARS
The past two games the Huskers have had big penalties due to players getting a little chippy with each other.
Against Minnesota those penalties killed drives and momentum.
Last week the Huskers were lucky that the penalties were offsetting or didn’t end up to be a nail in the coffin.
There
can be no penalties like that against USC. The Trojans will be sure to capitalize on the undisciplined penalties.
#2 QUICK PASS PLAYS
It’s going to be imperative that the offensive line protects Dylan Raiola. He needs to be clean in the pocket. This is going to be accomplished a lot easier with quick pass plays. He cannot wait forever for a play to develop.
Last week Raiola did a good job of getting rid of the football and not holding on to it for too long. He also ran the ball when it was necessary. He will need to continue to make those smart plays this week.
But also, the Huskers will need to utilize Emmett Johnson and RUN THE DAMN BALL.
#3 STRONG DEFENSE
The Blackshirts are going to be tested this week. The Trojans have #1 overall offense in the country averaging 530 yards of offense per game.
The #2 pass defense in the country is going to have to show out. While Nebraska opponents have averaged 128 yards per game, USC averages 326 passing yards per game.
Ceyair Wright is going to have to show out against his old team just like last year. Another pick 6 will do just fine.
#4 KICKOFF RETURNS
Let’s do it again Kenneth Williams!
The Huskers have the best kickoff return yards in the conference. It’s time for them to exploit a the USC special teams who has the worst kickoff return defense.
#5 NEBRASKA NIGHT GAME
It’s a Black Out night game! The energy in that stadium is going to be electric. The crowd will be the 12th man.
Also, while it won’t be snowing on Saturday, it will be cold. The Huskers are going to have to take advantage of the chilly Nebraska temps that the Trojans aren’t necessarily used to.
Let’s GOOOOOO BIIIIIGG REEEDDDD!
