Enogh cannot be said about the impact Red McCombs made on San Antonio. Known
locally for his car dealerships as well as bringing the Spurs to San Antonio, the business magnate invested heavily in the community as his influence stretched into other markets, cities, and sports.
Jacob Tobey emceed the unveiling, along with Spurs legends David Robinson and Geroge Gervin sharing their stories. In addition to the Spurs, the McCombs family and HemisFair Park personnel spoke highly of the contributions made by Spurs first owner.
Today is Red McCombs’ birthday. He’d have turned 98.
