With the MLB non-tender deadline ending later today, another move was made in Atlanta.
It was just announced that the Atlanta Braves have re-signed left-handed pitcher José Suarez to a one-year contract
for the 2026 season.
After arriving in Atlanta from the Los Angeles Angels before the start of the season, the lefty had just a few appearances (seven) after being sent down to the Gwinnett Stripers and later put on the IL list before being reinstated and building up his repertoire and strength to get back to the big league bullpen.
Is this the start of a developing bullpen for the 2026 season?
Some would say it’s barely a start, rather another chance for Suarez to step up in bigger ways to help the depth of the pitching staff in his one-year deal.
This leaves the question: what about RHP Alek Manoah and LHP Dylan Lee?
The deadline is just around the corner, with just a few short hours to count down.
Who will it be to stick it out with Atlanta for another round?
